I have 2 mallards and 3 runners that are 2 months old. About a week ago I moved them from the chick coop to the grown up coop w/ my chickens and guineas. They decided to stay inside for 3 days ( their choice) and then on the 4th and 5th day when they came out they would go in the chick coop and hang out w/ the 2 month old chicks who are now free ranging (doing very well) so at night I would walk them back in w/o much fuss and lock them up for the night. Tonight they went in all on their own. It was such a suprise w/ them being this young and knowing most ducks are harder to coop train. So for any newbie duck owners, dont give up, it is possible.

My two pekins are about two months old, and they go back to the coop at night behind the chickens

Throwing out treats every night when they're all in helps

I do notice that they linger outside longer than the chickens.
