Type 'fermented feed' in the search box and you'll get a lot of threads on it. It sounds simple enough but I haven't tried it yet. There is a debate on free choice feeding after laying age but what I do is this: watch and see how much feed is eaten in a day. Since chickens are asleep at night the only thing eating your feed at that time is mice or other pests so I give what each group will eat before night. All groups ate more dry feed than wet but they seem to be happier with wet so I think even if I did try fermented feed they'd love it. Something I haven't seen here yet- to everyone switching feed- are you mixing the new in with the old alittle at a time when feeding until it is all new?
