I have Bar Rocks. I have raised a couple chicks from eggs but when I put them in the coop the other older chickens kill the new ones any ideas how to stop this. Any help is greatly appericated! Tahnks for your interest.

How old are the new ones? Young chicks should never be put with older chickens until they are about the same size, even then you have to keep an eye on them.

How old are the chicks? You shouldn't put them with adults untill they are the same size. I have had broody's in the pen with the others but they didn't bother them.

Hahaha...What we said!

X2 I would wait until they are at least 5 months old then put them in another pen next to the big girls and let them free range together for a while before allowing them in the same pen.
