They love oatmeal

I've had some extra rough oats for a while and thought I would give some to the babies to see what they'd do...They love it and can't get enough. Now I have something to tame them with...YAY!

I find that my dog loves it too. when I pull out the oats everyone gathers.

do you give it to them dry or mix it up like we would eat?

I gave it to them dry. A couple of the larger ones were trying to fly onto the side of the box after it was gone...Wonder what they were after...hmmm

for chicks I realy suggest you give them cooked human oats (in water not milk or anything else added) as their are antinutritional factors associated with it (this is the reason enzymes are added to commercial feed)... cooking negates this.
Add JUST enough through their feed to make it clump...
