They sold me “Ameraucana” pullets, but I’m not so sure. Any thoughts?

So, these chicks are about 6 weeks old now. They sold them to me as “Ameraucanas”, but after searching and searching (and reading other threads here) I am afraid they’re Easter Eggers.

ALSO, I’m very suspicious that one of them is actually a roo!!

I’ve attached some pics. Hopefully y’all can give me some insight.
I’m super bummed b/c I can’t have a male. :hit

The lighter one is the suspected male, and the darker, blue(?), one is the other EE for comparison.
Sorry my arm’s covering half their body, they’re squirmy little buggers. Lol

Definitely a little roo for the light one... they do like EEs... except the darker one doesn’t seem to have a pea comb, does it? You may end up with and Olive Egger or evening just a brown layer... was it a breeder you bought them from? Unfortunately so many, many people don’t understand what an Ameraucana actually is. I’m actually stunned at how many people don’t understand this breed.

You are most likely correct . . they are not Ameraucanas, but Easter Eggers. I don't see even a hint of any beards or muffs on them and ameraucanas have both. I bought some chicks about 7 weeks ago that they claimed were amercucanas, but I was sure were Easter Eggers too. I am noticing that now two, maybe three, are finally developing the beard. The white one does have a more red and prominent comb and could be a roo. EE's are wonderful chickens, they are friendly and lay nice blue eggs, so if blue eggs was your desire, you should be happy.
Best of luck to you. :hugs

I’m not really sure on the comb type. It looks like a simple single row, but then again I’m so new to this that most of the chicks’ combs all look so similar right now. Lol
I bought them from a nice little farm store, whom I believe buys from a hatchery.
It really is frustrating that the hatcheries are so dishonest, and you’re right, I’m finding that so many people are uneducated on the matter.
I’d still be happy with an Olive Egger, I was actually trying to find one. My goal is a colorful basket.

Oh, those are beautiful birds!
Thank you, I was really hoping for blue eggs, fingers crossed I’ve got something good! 🤞

Those are Easter Eggers. The lighter one is a cockerel and the dark one is a pullet. EEs can have single combs, but she might lay green eggs instead of blue.

Oh what fun, I can’t wait to see what she gives me!
Now I’m just not sure what to tell my husband about to cockerel... maybe I play the ‘wait and see’ game! 😇
