I have 2 quail in the house that have severe leg problems. The plan was to keep them until they were big enough to eat, then do so. I am getting very tired of the noise and the smell...they aren't really growing right, so one is about the size of a 4-week-old baby, when it's at least 9 weeks old. So basically worthless. I was going to give them to one of the dogs the other day, but just couldn't bring myself to give the dog live birds. I also couldn't bring myself to kill them first, so they are still stinking, crowing, and flopping around in their box in the bathroom......like I said, a big softy....I will at the least trim the chukars wings though, but I really need to do something else. I would hate to pinion them though, and find out they are all males or something. Then they would be worthless........too bad you can't tell what sex they are this young.

You Can Still Trim The Chukar, Because They Are Not Native To Adair County And Ky Fish And Game Would Put You Or Anyone Else Under The Jail If They Found Out These Were Released Up There. So Basically All They Are Good For In Your Area Is Breeders. I'd Go Ahead And Pinion Them. May Be Used As An Extra Selling Point! Buy These, They're Pinioned And Cant Fly Away....
