They're hatching! Lisa and Jodi's eggs-UPDATE

Hello all,

I've got 40 eggs in the bator from Lisa and Jodi. They aren't due to hatch until tomorrow but I opened the bator real quick this morning to make sure the humidity was still up and there was a lone baby sitting there looking up at me.

I guess I've got to get my brooder ready!

Congrats - I put some of Lisa's eggs in bator 5 days ago and from day one I've kept checking a dozen times a day and each time I truly believe I 'm going to see babies looking back at me.

How exciting!
I'm on day 8 of my incubating. I candled last night and of the 8 eggs 6 had tons of movement. I can't wait. Good luck on your hatch

Still only one. A black NN. Cute!

I have to be so careful with these babies. I've lost 10 birds in the last 2 weeks or so and I'm trying to get a necropsy done so I can find out what is wrong with them. I would hate it if I lost these babies too.

I'm wondering if those babies I lost died because of disease instead of the cold. They would have been the first... then I lost 2 silkies, a polish, a standard game and a speckled sussex. (3 died today)

I've got to run.

I've got 1 black NN and 2 our your Ameraucana 's out. I had one other black silkie out but had to put it down because its intestines were on the outside.

Nothing on Jodi's eggs yet. I hope tomorrow when I wake up there will at least be a few more out. If not, the cold during shipping must have got to them.
