Yepppp, about a month ago. I moved them into my brother's room because it was too hot and apparently the lid on her tub didnt secure as well as I thought. She escaped, my brother has been sleeping on the couch and I feel horrible about it all. Ok not all, I could care less where he sleeps, he's a weenie.

I'm still not a fan, I prefer fuzzies for the most part, but snakes are vital to our ecosystem, so I can respect that. And these do have some very interesting pattern variations! And they didn't give me near the goose bumps others have... it's a consideration since Alex has been going on (and on and on) about snakes for some time.

It really doesn't help that his friends has a red tailed boa right down the road.
He comes back from there just beaming "He ate a mouse"

Big whoop

But I was snooping and a couple places mentioned that corn snakes are good for beginners.
Not huge, not deadly, and not as picky temp/humidity wise.

Would you say that's a fair assessment - no need to distract the topic, just a note would be awesome-
(I don't know that I'll let him have one for another couple years, he's only 11, but it's nice to narrow things down JIC.)

yup... read this thread and if gave me the creeps...

I don't like spiders or snakes.....

Corns are GREAT beginner snakes. I would definitely recommend them for a first snake. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

And Mahonri, I give fair warnings, you dont gotta look.
