BC,
I picked up my chicks this afternoon!!! I originally understood that I would be getting week olds which I was fine with. Imagine my surprise when we picked up these guys & gals below who're about 5 weeks old! LOL. The great thing is my chances of losing a chick are greatly reduced though, I was kinda hoping I would be getting lil fuzzbutts...

I've been giving my first batch treats since they were a few days old, and they'll be six weeks tomorrow. As long as they have grit, they can have snacks. Try watermelon - it's a huge hit at my house!

note to self, get grit!
I wasn't expecting my chicks to be this old, but it's great, hubby's been checking on them every hour "just to make sure" now, he's settled down to watch a movie but we have to go check on them as soon as the movie is over lol. I'm blessed to have my honey!

I can't wait to start giving them goodies!

I'm willing myself not to worry. I know they are safe, they have water, food and warmth... they group together to sleep but are all over the brooder when "active". Some of them more active than others

Very cute to watch. The pups were quite disapointed mind you, their hopes of fresh chicken squished when hubby walked past them adn straight into the garage
