The post office called me at 6 am sharp this morning and I went and got my babies. I made sure all of them had water and they all went to the water fount and drank as well. They have food, gro gel and cooked egg yolks. Boy did they like that yolk. They are all very vigorous
I just hope they keep it up. I will try to figure out how to post pictures.
Here is what my neighbor and I ordered:
1 male, 4 - female cuckoo marans (2 females are replacements)
1 male black giant
1 male, 2 female white giants (these chicks are a really pretty pale silver gray)
2 male, 2 female austrolorps (2 females are replacements, 1 male is "extra")
1 male, 6 female delawares (2 females are replacements) - these are the ones that will be my chickens.
1 male, 2 female dark cornish (all replacements)
3 female rhode island reds
1 female araucana (replacement)
Rather than have them fill our replacement orders, we chose to fill them with ones that we wanted. My neighbor is a brave soul - but she wants to try several breeds before settling on one. She loves brown eggs and I think she will be really pleased with the cuckoo marans. This is my first adventure into chickens and I just want to try one breed so I got Delawares. I think they are such a pretty bird.
