but out of 26 i can identify 4 haha .. and i have guesses on a few .. but wow i need some help !!! lol


i got a turken . gunna be buff i believe ..

two cochins (white)

one bantam polish( i think) ..

one possibly two australops ( they match the other four i raised .. )

three black chicks that look similar .... a couple may be the same type .. (single combs)

one white black spotted im guessin is a ancona ... (maybe)

5 different colored chipmunk marked ones ... ( i think all six are different .. but all have the chipmunk back markings..)

(this one has a weird comb ) V cuddles

three orange colored ones .. they all three look like this

two that are buff with some tiny black spots and with poofs on the top of their head .. that have yellow skin .. and clean legs .. so arent polish or sultans ..

smaller poof

one redish and mostly black .. ( mite have a tiny poof .. ?)

two buff colored ones .. ( same type i believe ..)

i think thats all of them ..

I'm no help whatsoever. Until recently I never would have believed that chickens, not to mention chicks could come in so many different colors, shapes and sizes. www.mypetchicken.com has good reference pictures of different breeds as adults and chicks, and I believe the "Breeds" section of this forum also has good photos and descriptions of various breeds.

Oh, the three little black with white on the heads chicks in the box look just like my Barred Plymouth Rocks when they arrive, both the color of the chicks, the color of their feet and the white dots on their heads would lead me to guess that they are BPRs. So perhaps I'm not totally no help whatsoever.

The little yellow 1 staring at the camera look just like my buff orpingtons but idk bout any others! Although the lil chipmunk marked ones are just so darn CUTE

The 3 black ones with the light color on the back of their head (my husband thought she had a bald spot!) look like my Barred Plymouth Rock. Mine is less than a week old.

I can tell you the ones you think are anconas match my anconas so I think you have those right. The black with white dots appear to be barred rocks or black sex link Roos. The yellow chick looks kinda like my Minorca... but not willing to wager since there are several that are that color.

im half expecting 90 percent of these to be roos ... lol .. =/ but hopefully they arent ..and i get a couple pullets in the mix ..


few questions .. do cochins have 5 toes ?? lol .. the little fuzzy footed yellow two (single combs) .. have five toes ... and so does the "ancona " (has a V comb i think ) ...

ill have to double check everyone .. lol maybe the five toes .. and combs will help me id them all alot better ..
