Yesterday our ~24 week old BO squatted and I figured it would be a couple more days before she laid her first egg. Well, about 0930 this morning she went in the coop and while she was on the nest one of our BR's was waiting outside.
It's like the other chickens came in the pen for support.
She was on the nest for 45 minutes and I knew when she came off because I heard the egg song and I guess the BR was helping her. Before I could get a picture of the egg the BR jumped on the nest. The BR doesn't sing after laying.
Here are the eggs. My son will be very happy.
