They're starting to hatch!!!!! (Update: Dead in their shells)

Today is day 19 for us. I have 21 Polish Frizzle eggs in the incubator. The first has already made a small hole in the shell but he doesn't look so good. The fluid around him seems off color but doesn't smell. I can see his crop and it is full of a liquid substance. I don't recall any of my other chick hatching with full crops. I don't expect him to survive. There are 7 other eggs with pips and a few rocking with peeps.

I sure hope yours make it out of those eggs so we can see cute fuzzy butts! Here's to hoping mine do too. I've already killed 16 eggs, I'm going to be devastated if all of these last 4 die too.

Aww, congrats! Mine aren't doing anything. Maybe I've been imagining movement and noises. Tomorrow is day 21. I'm praying for even just one to hatch.

Still no pips, but they chirp loud enough occasionally that I know I' m not imagining it! Today is day 21, and I have to be away most of the day, so hopwfully I will have four chickies when I get home! Or at least some pips.

YAY! I am hatching chicks for the first time, too. My hatch date is the 17th...so excited! My children and I candled the eggs for the first time a few days ago and saw movement in 24 of the 32 eggs! We had 1 that was definately BAD (because it cracked open in the incubator and STUNK), 2 that I think have that blood ring and 5 that we just werent sure about. They are brown eggs so it was pretty hard to see through some of them but we candled the eggs that we were unsure of (lastnight) and got to move 3 of them to the "WE SEE THEM!" section! Im super excited and nervous! Please keep us posted on whats going on and post pics :0) Good Luck!

Well, I don't know what to think. None of the eggs have moved from their positions this morning, and I hear no noises anymore. I'm tempted to pull one out and listen, but I'm not going to do it- BYC has this Lockdown thing ingrained into me!

I've got the sinking suspicion they won't be hatching. But it's day 21, my temps were low at times (99.5)... So I'm going to wait, but not expecting much anymore. The temp is at 101 above the eggs, 60-70% humidity.

If it's day 21 don't worry yet, especially if your temps were a little on the low side. Chickies aren't told they are supposed to pop out on day 21 so sometimes they take their sweet time

Also, their development will be slightly slower if it was cool so they may come tomorrow. I never pull mine out of the bator before day 25 because sometimes you'll have some super late hatchers!
