So its fledging time for the baby wild birds around here, and there are always some unfortunate ones who manage to hit the ground on their first try and stun or kill themselves. Two such fledglings happened to do this when my girls were out, and boy did I get to watch some velociraptor action! There was nothing left of those little birds in short order. The crazy part was watching one girl slurp down a good portion of the ribcage and a leg -- she looked like a snake swallowing prey!!!
