I just checked out a my Barred Rocks and noticed that they seem to have much thinner feathering on their breastbones than my BO or Australorp. Is this common? One also has a little sore about the size of the end of a pencil eraser. They seem fine, enjoyed ranging this evening around the back yard and I get an average of 5 eggs a day from a half dozen of 8-9 month old hens (with a light in their coop).

Thanks in advance!

At night do they rest on a wire floor or a roost? If it's a roost how wide is it?

Their roost should be a rounded 2X4 The roost they have (if not a 2X4) might not be giving them enough support. Make sure you treat that pencil eraser size wound right away.
