Thin/Fragile Shell

We had our second egg today, and when I brought it in, and began to brush it off with a towel VERY lightly, it just crushed really easily. I did know if that is normal, maybe since it was still warm (probably laid in the last half hour), the shell wasn't as hard? Or is it because they are working up to laying regularly?

Any thoughts?

new layer...totally normal...long time layer add oyster shell...lots of advice on this do a search

They need extra calcium. Our 2nd egg was like that too. Get them some crushed oyster shell. Until then you can make them an egg shell omelet to feed to them and that will help too.

That soft shell is soooo weird isn't?
