Thin-shelled eggs

This cream legbar hen laid a normal turquoise egg for a couple months. Then she started laying these ultra thin shelled eggs. For the last three months, we always find them crushed or smashed or half eaten in the coop. The last four days, I’ve given her a calcium citrate pill every day. My 11 laying hens all have access to oyster shells and layer feed.

Since she’s been laying these thin-shelled eggs, this is the thickest shelled egg we’ve seen. It has all the little calcium deposits dots on the shell. The calcium is getting through, but is her shell gland just messed up? This is by far the craziest egg I’ve seen, but she hasn’t laid a normal egg for months now.

It’s like she has reproductive diarrhea! Is there anything I can do?

What's her diet?
It could just be reproductive disorder, I'm not sure if it can be fixed.
Any sign of lash or infection? If not, if she was mine, I'd put her down before an egg broke in her, which will happen eventually.

Does she seem stressed at all?

Check her for lice/mites and consider getting a fecal float to see if worms may be a contributor.

Sometimes hens have reproductive problems or defective shell glands. I would stop the extra calcium and see what happens.

Update- It’s been 4+ months now. After the freaky weird egg, she hasn’t laid any. I quit giving calcium. I gave up on her. She eats what everyone else does, no special treatment. And then, she laid 2 perfect aqua eggs in the last 3 days!!! 🤗🤗 I have no idea what’s going on🤯 But I’m very happy😁
