Every morning at 9 am I go out to clean the poop trays. Usually there are at least two sensible, hard-working, dedicated hens in a couple of the nests, concentrating hard on the job at hand. They ignore me as I go about my business.. then... there's Screech. Screech is a Prairie Bluebell Egger who looks just like a Brown Leghorn. She comes and looks in the door and sees me. And right away, she starts in. Eeeeeeeh? She says.. (What's going on?) Eeeeeeeeeeeh? (What are YOOOOOU doing in the hen house AGAIN?)
EeeeeeeeeEEEEEHHHH? (Are you about DOOOOOONE?) EEEEEEEEEEEEHHHH?
Each screech getting louder and longer until she is SCREAMING at me. I'm hurrying as fast as I can, since I do this every morning it really doesn't take that long. She advances into the hen house now, stalking me.
EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH?
(Aren't you done YET?) Seriously, Screech, I'm almost done! Finally she jumps up on a roost so she's eyeball to eyeball with me.
EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH?
And that's it, I'm done, I'm out of here. Satisfied, she tucks herself into a nest to take care of business. She has evicted the interloper. Again.
