I'm just glad I have some that r doing good. Makes me happy. LOL. Now please let them be hens. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

It's so exciting when you candle. I still candle every day after about day 4. I just can't help myself, and it hasn't affected my hatches opening the incubator so much. My first hatch went amazing, but unfortunately out of 22 eggs I seem to have only gotten about 7 hens. Now my problem seems to be deciding on which roos to keep. I kept my 2 barred rock roos and 3 Buff Orp roos and my 2 EE roos, but ya, that's probably not a great idea. I already got rid of the others. I just want them ALL! And to make matters worse I have 9 three day old Lavender Orps, 24 assorted Orp hatching eggs on order, and Tractor Supply and Rural King will have baby chicks soon. So ya, probably the #1 biggest thing I've learned as a beginner hatcher is that it's more addictive than crack!

HAHA - you aren't kidding! I have 23 eggs in my bator now and I have 42+ coming around the 20th or so - just when these guys are due to hatch......I was addicted at day 2! This is so not good!

Yes it is. I know TSC is getting there's in this week. Was thinking of getting a few to relieve the addiction. HAHAHAHA!! I was thinking about getting a few Cornish X's. But I hate those chickens. If you want to call them chickens.

I must stay patient.

I have these coming out Feb. 26. Then in March getting Hertiage Rhode Island Reds, Hertiage Delawares and a great bloodline of Light Brahmas. So In a month I will go from 15 chickens to 100.

Well I am feeding my addiction by hatching but hope to sell them on Craigslist to other city farmers. There are no adds on Craigslist remotely near our area, so I think I have a good chance of them being sold. Mine are light Sussex roo, white rock hen, light Sussex hens and RIR hens. So all good egg layers and meat. A barnyard mix, but very good DP birds.

I know the feeling. I have another batch of eggs ordered too. They'll arrive a few days after my currant lot is due. I tell myself that it's the last chance I will have for eggs for a while (since it's almost Autumn here) but the truth is, I'm addicted too.
