When buying chicks the bigger ones with feathers are most likely roosters because when i bought mine 4/6 where roosters. When my ma picked them they weren't so big and 5/6 were hens. So think about this when buying chicks! ! !

it all depends on their age some do feather faster than others but its not always a way to tell gender

if they do have the fast feathering gene then those who feather in the fastest are pullets and the slow feathering ones are the cockerels....
