Ok so im getting quail next year and I want to order 50 eggs.I plan on getting them from a hatcherie and I heard cumberland game birds farms is good.Im getting fertile hatching eggs, any one have good succes rates with the eggs.Btw im getting the jumbo coturnix.

I've heard good things about Cumberland Game Birds. They are nice cause they will ship as little as 12 eggs instead of the 100's you might have to purchase from another hatchery.

I've heard good things about the stock he keeps too, especially the jumbos he carries.

Now, I've never ordered from him myself as I'm in Canada, so my information is second hand.

Though I'm done with ordering eggs from hatcheries for the foreseeable future. I had a good experience dealing with them.
I ordered 24 of their so called TX. A&M eggs for a princely sum of $40 delivered.
After waiting a week, for my admittedly small order, I sent an email to them to ship or cancel, and amazingly, my order was going to be shipped the next day, but I could cancel the order if I wanted.
(This is normal when placing small egg orders with hatcheries, had to do the same with GQF)
It's just the nature of the business. Hatching eggs are not widgets, you don't just have an extra 100 sitting in reserve on the top level of an over stock bin.

Ordered 24 eggs, received 30. They were very well packed!
2 had micro cracks in them and I threw them out.
I set 28 eggs and got a 70% hatch rate. Anything over 60% with eggs that have gone through any shipping process: I consider a 100% success.
No brooder related deaths: Other than when I set my quart water jar on a chick and didn't notice it. (A "My Fault" death.)

As JJMR794 said "You'll Get A Deal On Eggs" if you watch their web site.

Bottom line: They are a reputable hatchery as far as I'm concerned, and would buy from them again.

Sorry this was so long and boring!

Their eggs were all different sizes. When I saw them, I thought that they had sent me a "Duke's Mixture" because I had forced them to ship or cancel. That doesn't seam the case, but there are 2 with a lot of brown on their backs.
I started with the pharoes (Browns from gqf) so that is my only frame of ref. for comparison. The smallest eggs were slightly larger than an average brown's egg. The largest was a bit under 2X that size and all sizes in between. Sorry I don't have weights, or pics with quarters, but I wasn't expecting to be chatting about this when I set my eggs.

My birds will be 8 months old Nov. 1. If you PM or email me around that time, I will be happy to throw a few on my postage scale and get a rough weight for you. I'm not expecting any 2 lbs. birds, but hopefully something in the 10+oz. range like Quailzilla's jumbos.
