Ive had this quail soaking in the warm water for a while, its pooping pasty white liquid. Im trying to push vent back in, i dont feel an egg but its so swollen it wont go in. Idk what to do with it

If i left it in the dark in a nest would the red vent go back in by itself ?

@Eggcessive @Wyorp Rock

It does look like a prolapse vent.

Soak in a warm bath, then clean with Veterycin if you have it. Give her calcium supplements and vitamins and separate her from the flock.

Good luck! Keep us updated on how she does!
i had her in a box for a couple hours in the dark, just gave her another bath. Managed to push the vent back in this time, its looking okay normalish. ill keep her in box for a few more hours then left her eat with the others, remove before male jumps her. Then she can stay in box till tomorrow. Hopefully its resolved just has to heal

If the prolapse comes back out, make sure that you put some honey, oil, or vaseline on it to keep it from drying out. I do ‘t know anything about quail, but with chickens, you can keep them in the dark 16 hours a day to help them stop laying. Egg binding or straining to poop can cause prolapses, and there are other possible causes. You can also post on the quail forum for more looks. Here it is:

it died, was dripping bit of blood and white stuff didnt want to drink water. Poor quail
