Think your birds don't recognize you? Think again.

Awe, thank you for that update. How funny that we all assumed she was a she. and I'm so glad they can still keep their special bond with each other.

We had a guard goose growing up and yes, she was the best. She had several distinct honks and you could hear from inside the house if a friend or stranger was coming up the driveway. I can't tell you how many freaked out service men we had to rescue from the back yard from her.

I'd LOVE to have one today but sadly, I live in a tiny house in the city and my few chickens is all I can manage.

I love geese; that story was so great. Thank you for posting it.

What a wonderful story...

My last rooster recognized me. I had surgery last December and when I got home the birds were all out freeranging, and when Big Boy saw me, he ran down the hill, and at the bottom stopped, flapped his wings, and crowed. My dad said that was the first time he crowed that day.

No doubt that our chickens recognize us. I walked outside today & they came a-runnin' to the edge of the pen. Couldn't get there fast enough, and they are only 5 1/2 weeks old.
