I scanned through the quail posts, but hard to tell by titles if they're going to answer my questions.
1. can you use a chicken incubator to hatch them out?
2. can you hatch them in the bator or do you have to have a hatcher too?
3. do you brood them like chicken chicks?
4. I've looked at some set ups on here and they're off the ground. Do the little darlins have to be kept off the ground all the time or can I build like a miniature version of a chicken coop?

3. do you brood them like chicken chicks? PRETTY MUCH BUT I GET THEM OUT AFTER HATCH SOONER
4. I've looked at some set ups on here and they're off the ground. Do the little darlins have to be kept off the ground all the time or can I build like a miniature version of a chicken coop? EITHER WAY WILL WORK MANY KEEP THEM ON WIRE AS ITS EASIEST... LESS DISEASE AND PARASITES THAT WAY

Quail can both be incubated and hatched in a chicken incubator. Temp is the same and so is brooding. They can be ground dwellers, but most tend to keep them on wire for sanitary reasons. They are definitely fun little guys.

How soon do you want em out of the hatching bator to the brooder with food and water?

Sitting up waiting for a couple to dry in an hour, then I HAVE to get some sleep (sick kid this week and now, BAM everybody wants out of their shell!

. 6 hrs and I will be back on duty. Doesn't look like many will zip tonight...It would be late tonight.

Are we talkin 3 hrs, or as soon as dry? But not the 8- 24 hrs that "other species that rhymes with kicken" would allow.

I Personally Pull Them As Soon As Fuzzy... At Night Or While I Am At Work, They May Spend Upwards Of 6-8 Hrs Total In The Hatcher, But Rarely Ever More Than That
