Thinking about amputating chicks leg... yes or no...

It doesnt know any different life, it doesnt know that there is better. And having a messed up leg doesnt make you terminally ill. And She said it is healthy and perky and it only yelps when the leg is touched therfore it should be amputated

After my husband and I married and bought our first house we decided to get a dog and got stuck on german shepherds. They were exactly what we wanted and needed. We have a family friend who is a dog trainer and he told us about a breeder that he knew. A couple weeks later we drove 3 hours away to go pick out a puppy...and fell in love! he was 9 weeks old and solid black, beautiful. When he was about 6 months old we were taking him for a run when he all of sudden stopped and started whining. He was in so much pain and couldn't walk so my husband had to carry him back to the house. The next day we took him to the vet and had x rays done. Turns out he had hip dysplasia and elbow dyspasia and it was so bad he needed to have 3 different surgeries. He was on pain meds for about a month while we still trying to figure out what to do. the vets wanted to do 3 surgeries in a 9 month span, plus therapy in between, and then later he would have to have more surgeries....We knew his life was going to full of pain and didn't want him to suffer. We ended up having him put to sleep and that was seriously the hardest thing I have ever done.....

You really need to think about the quality of life that chicken is going to have. you have no idea if its in pain or not and its probably just going to get worse. I would end its suffering, but thats just my opinion....

You are right to some degree but maybe the person who is charged with the additional care may not want that job. I have sold chicks for many years and I have never had anyone request a one-legged chicken or sold one. I did get one in the store once though.

Chickens were made to have TWO legs hold their body up for them to function NORMALLY. If its leg is twisted and can only use the "good" leg, I'm sure it is uncomfortable and painful.

So the poverty in Africa is ok because the people dont know any better? They've never known a decent life?

having a leg run over and a severe illness that will cause pain for the animals whole life is something completly different​
