thinking about buying an incubator, advice please

I'm with Omran. This turns into a sick addiction quickly. Why is that?
But honestly I wouldn't give this up for anything! I have a Genesis Hova. Like it. Someday will upgrade. But the fan and turner are a plus especially if the eggs you want to hatch are expensive or rare.

I personaly like the hovabator 1588's. Preset temps at the factory and with an auto turner they are pretty much set and forget. I dont have experience with the Brinsea eco 20 but ive heard great things from those who have purchased it. I would stay away from the little giants ive heard countless horror stories with them. The 1588's with auto turners will run around 175$ shipped from cutler supply (highly recommend them for there customer service). Ive got 2 of the 1588's but i basicaly use them for hatchers anymore sense I bought a cabinet bator for 100$ off craigslist

Unless im doing less than 42 eggs anyway (usualy im setting a dozen here and a dozen there so i need something else to hatch in). With all that being said if your like the rest of us you will soon be needing a cabinet bator your so addicted to hatching out chicka's

Good luck with whatever your purchase and remember that for every good thing someone has to say about a particular bator someone else has an equaly bad experience with it. Oh and i havent had any issues keeping my temps stable in my house with my ac cycling on and off all day long and the themostat goes up to 85 when where not here (stupid digital i cant figure out how to program right).

Hmmmm the brinsea I see is over 300, where is the 99 brinsea?

Oh duh instad of hitting buy now I went off in another direction. Thank you, I see the turner is only 49 too,..so question do I need a fan with it?

Everyone has their own opinion and mine is..do you need a fan no, does a fan help even temp ...yes. I have a still air no turner and no fan and hatched 80% of my eggs this spring. I hatched Turkey Quail and Pheasants all in a foam incubator with no fan or turner.Of course I had good fertile eggs to start that I got from a BYC member!!!!! It does take a lot more attention for sure than the more expensive ones but i do for fun not for a business.

Has a fan built it.

The only thing the Hovas or LGs have over the Brinsea Eco20 is capacity.
I've had 3 LGs (loved them), have one Hova Genesis (love it), and had
a Brinsea Oct40(Really loved it).

The most important thing about incubating is KNOWING YOUR BATOR!!!!
That's why so many people here do so well with home-made bators.
(Don't tell them I said that please.)
