Thinking about chickens.

I'm a city gal moved from west to south east. Never raised chickens. Fascinated by them since a toddler. Living near a lake in Florida out in county. Looking for a group to discuss chicken raising. From coop building to buying chickens. Care and feeding. Finding out if I'm the right person to raise and care for the little gals.

If you're looking for resources, the Learning Center here on BYC is a great place to start. The book "Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens" by Gail Damerow is also a really excellent guide for beginners.

We've got many great urban and suburban chicken owners here. Even city people can get the hang of chickens pretty quickly!
