I think I have baby fever again
I incubated eggs from my own hens twice, but have never done ducks before. I have a Khaki Campbell drake, a muscovy hen, and a crested hen of some sort. We lost our big boy burt, a muscovy, a couple months ago.
I think burt's passing triggered this baby fever. I don't want to hatch with my ducks, especially my crested. I'm not sure how soon I want to start hatching, maybe sometime in the spring. I quite like breeds like muscovys, more natural looking, but Im not sure what breed I'd like to hatch. I know the basics of hatching from my rounds beforehand, but I'm not sure how different duck incubation is from chicken, so, I have some questions.
1. What are some good breeds for incubation?
2. Does central Florida have any decent fertilized egg sellers? OR
3. Any online sellers that are known for good eggs and shipping?
4. What is the best way to incubate duck eggs?
This is the incubator I have https://www.amazon.com/Farm-Innovators-4200-Circulated-Incubator/dp/B007571DFM
Any tips, hints or suggestions are welcome!
