Hi from WI!

I don't have ducks but I can tell you this...chickens are a BLAST! I love them so much. I now have 2 turkeys but they are just babies yet. New for me. I am so scared to get ducks because I hear all sorts of "stinky" stories about um. My hubby would kill me if I got ducks. I do want some though

Good luck and sounds like you ahve done a lot of thinking which is a good thing. Did you do a lot of research? I did a years worth before I got chickens. Lots of fun

I am just beginning my research and have been spending a few hours a day surfing around. I am really starting from scratch here.

Today I watched some Youtube videos on killing and prepping/skinning ducks and rabbits. I need to desensitize myself to the process if I am going to raise them for meat. I have a really high capacity for empathy that I need to work through.

I live just outside of Berlin along the Fox River.

Whereabouts are you? Central WI covers a lot of ground.

Cypress I am near Wausau WI. Yes, I know how you fell with raising them for meat. We just got our 25 meat chickens butchered and it was hard on me. It was then hard for me to eat the meat LOL I did but it was hard. Now I am trying to think of it just as store chicken. I'm strange that way. Now my hubby is talking about butchering our turkeys and I'm not sure I can do it.
