Hoppin John is black-eyed peas served over rice, and we also put chow-chow relish on ours. Also we have cabbage, which is for wealth. And Jim has pickled herring for whatever reason (ick!not me!) it's some Wisconsin thing I think.
I like chips & salsa, and the spicy chex mix snack stuff, and alligator eggs (sausage-cheese balls--recipe is in the BYC cookbook!) & veggies - carrots, celery, etc with a blue cheese dip, for finger foods.
I'm doing a brisket to serve with rolls too, for little sandwhiches if people want them.
