Thinking of getting Rooster

I am going to let them free range at one point and I have been getting my Great Pyrenees used to them so they see them as something to protect and not chase

They are 7 and 4. So far they do very good of keeping things away. Since been here for 2 years have not seen one bobcat, beer, fox, fisher cat. Come near my property. I know they are around but these dogs make there presence known.

Like the others said, wait until the hens are older before getting a rooster. At least laying age, or better yet 9 to 12 months old. Adult hens are much less likely to put up with a.young cockerel's nonsense. Otherwise they tend to bully and stress out younger pullets when their hormones kick in.
