Thinking of selling muscovy eggs.

I am considering selling some of my muscovy duck fertilized eggs. I only have a small flock, so I would only want to sell 6 at a time, so they aren't sitting for more than a day or two before shipping.

I have a black pied drake with chocolate pied and blue pied females. So nothing super special about the colors.

Is $35 too much for 6 eggs with shipping included? Shipping quotes about $15-$20 for 2 day with proper packing supplies.

All advice and input appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the response! I'm still tossing the idea around and I'm not sure if I actually want to do it yet. Just putting my feelers out there.

If I do decide to do it, any small profit I make will be going into my daughters savings. She's only 7 months old, but it's never too early.

I've never sold shipped hatching eggs, but I have purchased them. Personally, I'd be reluctant to sell hatching eggs that need to be shipped - there are so many things that can adversely affect the viability of the eggs that are outside of your control, and buyers may not understand them (or their state's requirements for importing eggs - but that's a whole different conversation). eBay has listings for Muscovy hatching eggs, so could at least provide an idea of pricing and how well they're selling.

Have you considered selling them locally, like at animal swaps or through CL? It seems to me that people are more interested in buying ducklings than hatching eggs, at least in my area. Instant gratification, I guess.
