This is the wife's cabin up north. Between her Aunt & Uncle on the west, and her cousin owning the property to the east the family owns most of the southern end of the lake. Hours of walking in nature. I love it up there, but it is quite a hike. Since the cold and wet are sorta depressing thought I'd pull out some old pictures to share. We were going up there to repaint the logs and fixing to put a new roof on when we took the pics

Its about 320 square feet, but we love it! It is so quiet up there. It's where I'd like to be right about now...

the last shot is the pic of the field behind the cabin, and the old railroad bed up on gravel that we bought as well.... So when we go up, we usually take my big van, camper, quite a few tents, lotsa sleeping bags, a few cases of beer, random games for the kids to play, fishing gear, a few cases of beer, the satellite so I don't miss any college football, hamburgers, hotdogs, bread and sandwhich fixings, a few cases of beer, coolers for bringing home the catch, and did I forget the beer? C'mon up. We sit by the water in a firepit my wife's great grandpa dug out. The cabin's passed down to the kids and I feel lucky she lets me "hang" at her home away from home

The older girls this year got brave and followed the old railroad bed to the played out shale pit that the cousin owns. They have a lot of fun playing in the artesian well that sprays water out of the sheer rock face and find lots of pretty crystals and fossels from there to the lake where it drains too. Next time I go up I am going to get the Great Yappy some fossils and pretty crystals cuz I heard she is a rockhound at heart.

Beautiful.

Waters edge reminds me of my Grandmother's place - she lived on Sunset lake for a many a year. For a few years, when I was very young, we lived on Stanley Lake - mid 70's. Great places.

DUDE! I am sooooooo there with you.
