I have six hens 2 road island reds 2 road island whites and 2 orpingtons. they all lay but 1 of the whites lays on the eggs all day until we go and push her away to get the eggs. we do not have any roosters but still she thinks she is hatching. is there any way of breaking that habbit?

Isolating her in a separate pen (some use a suspended wire cage) until she stops being 'clucky' will generally do the trick.

my only problem is that our chickens are free range. should i still try her in a seprerate cage because their coop is in the barn and they go in at night but the white one waits for everyone to lay and idk if she lays or not but she sits on all the other eggs wile the others are outside roaming.

Go out there a couple times a day and get her up. She doesn't want to be bothered, so getting her up will hopefully do the trick, it's worked for me in the past. I have also heard of dipping their breast and underside in a bucket of cold water a couple times a day, but haven't had to try it yet.
