My students are SO excited!
The kids made so many signs to protect the babies. Not sure how "you will get hurt," but you've been warned. 🤣 Also, spelling has taken a hit during covid. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I really hope we have a good hatch!

My son's elementary school does a hatch every year, but they got their eggs from a farm, and give the chicks back right after hatch.

I teach high school, and my students get excited over chicks, too. Who doesn't? :wee
Right?? Everyone loves it! These are from my chickens, but since we already practiced exponents with chicken math at my house this spring these have homes to go to my students' flocks. Living in the country, about a third of my students keep livestock of some kind! I made sure with parents that they all had good homes before I started the incubator.

Oh, that's great! So excited for you and your students! :)

Best day ever. 16/18 hatched so far, one non-viable egg, and waiting on one more. Most of the kids in the whole school got to see a live hatch. 🥰

How sweet they are! :love That must have been so exciting for everyone. I love the variety of egg colors in the incubator, and how the incubator itself makes it so easy to see the action going on inside. What breeds are the chicks?

Thank you, Orloffer! It was so exciting. It will continue to be so all week until these little peepers go to their new homes! 😅
They are "barnyard mixes," but should be pretty cool. I hoping there will be some pretty shades of green egg layers among the chicks. My roosters are Blue Copper Marans and Olive Egger (BCM/Aracauna mix). Lots of hen breeds...BCM, silver, gold, and red wyandotte, Easter Eggers, Legbar, barred rock, buff orpington, etc.
And yes, I LOVE the Nurture Right 360! I can't say these eggs were tended to as well as the eggs I hatch at home since I didn't go in every weekend, but so far we have a 16/18 hatch, quite possibly 17/18 tomorrow! I love how the students have such an incredible view of the whole hatch.

Those kids are so lucky! They see a hatch, then take home the cuties!

You're a great teacher. I love that you showed them different egg colors, and chickens beyond white and brown.
