Ok, so this is my third newbie in as many days- the first two turned out to be cockerels. I really hope it’s a she, as “it” is so so sweet and cuddly and hops right up into my lap and snuggles! I’m also wondering what breed it is- Araucana/Ameraucana/Easter egger? It’s about 7-8 weeks old. Fingers crossed she’s a pullet!! (It’s been exceptionally hot so she’s panting in a few pics :)

My only concern is a couple of longer tail feathers on her rump. But the seller said sh’d been picked on a bit so had to be separated from the flock, so maybe her tail feathers were affected? The comb looks to be a single pea, and barely noticeable as of yet.

She's a pretty little lady!
For the heat ... Have you tried busting open a watermelon for your birds? Chilled first, then simply broken open on the ground. They love it! We also freeze chunks for the chicks and single broodies. If you freeze them on a tray, they don;t stick together and you can bag em up for easy division. We also pick up extra bags of berries - either frozen or fresh to freeze ourselves - when we find them at the discount stores.
You can also freeze bits and pieces of fresh greens and scratch in a tray of water, (or ice cubes) too. Mine have a grand time chasing ice cubes across the floor of the coop and run. The things we do for our chickens! There are times when I think my birds eat better than I do!
