Third time around Tampa Bay Area Chicken Swap - Saturday, January 28th

Chics, thank you again for hosting such a great swap in our area! We came home with 4 little ones and it was not at all easy to decide which ones to buy. For those who missed it (or haven't gotten there yet), there were baby chicks in at least 14 different breeds, pullets in many breeds, ducks, pigeons, I can't remember everything.

Your home is great, a wonderful place right in the middle of St. Pete, and lots of shade. I hope you have another in the fall. By the way, we stopped by Park Feed on our way home and thanked them for their donation to the swap. We let them know that they were getting good publicity from your swap.

Hope everyone else got what they were looking for. We now have little ones all less than 2 weeks old; Maran, Silver Lace Wyandotte, Gold Laced Wyandotte, Buff Orpington & our 2 (hatched by our Lady) Americanas. Can't wait to see the eggs this little flock will produce!

Thank you again for making this great assortment available to us back yard folks.

Chics, again thank you for hosting this “event” My fiancé is now 100% on board about getting some chicks…however, she kept going back to the ducklings over and over…I maybe in trouble!

Lol My son is really exited and also was surprised about how nice everyone was!! Me, well I left with a good contact for a cheap, already made coop so I may not have to build one.

I had lots of fun, thanks for the swap. Next time we are just going to bring pre-ordered birds ( that way we can go swim a little bit in the gulf )

Chicks,

Thanks for hosting, a GREAT swap! You were a great host!!

We enjoyed meeting BYC members, and spending the morning, talking chicken talk.
Thanks for the warm welcome, and allowing us to be part of your swap.

I'm so glad you all made it, thank you all so much for coming out. I had a great time meeting everyone, and I hope it was worth making the drive for those of you that came a long way. It was so much fun seeing everyone's birds, and one of these days I'll get a silkie polish from you guys, itsibitsie farms, and a BLRW from Nava.

Juan, I broke down and got two baby Rouen ducklings (tell your fiance). They are SO SWEET. I also got two male pigeons, and the two lovely white doves.

Alpha - thanks for stopping by Park. I was just a little too late on my way home from dropping off the unsold chicks to stop in there - I'm glad you thanked them.

El Naked Neck - You can always leave unsold birds in my yard for a few hours if you want to go to the beach or downtown. I'll "bird sit" anytime!

Thanks again for joining my swap, and check out the St.Petersburg times on-line for a slideshow and the Sunday paper tomorrow for the story.

Oh, and we made $70 for relief efforts in Japan!! I may bring some of the soda I have left to the swap in Ocala on the 23rd (or is it Donellon - where is it, cmom?) to try and make a little more before I send it in. Thanks again!
