I am in a suburban community and recently have seen this chicken wandering the parking lot where I work. I am trying to find a home for her and I'd like to know the breed so I can properly describe her. From what I've been able to find, she kind of looks like a speckled sussex, except for the yellow feet. Perhaps she is mix, or perhaps I just haven't figured it out yet.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

South Florida - and while she's not bashful, shes' not tame, so I would need someone to catch her.

Any idea what breed she is?

She looks like a speckled sussex except they usually have white legs. Could be that she's just not a pure one and hatched in someone's backyard. Speckled sussex would work for a description though. You might go to the "where am I? where are you?" thread and look for the Florida posts. BYC'ers are always willing to rehome birds and you might find someone close to you that way or someone willing to drive a little ways to meet you.

I was thinking mix, just because of the legs, and yes I was thinking she was someone's "pet" chick that got too large for our municipal codes here so they just dumped her. So sad.

No point in meeting me, I can just say where she's been seen. Kind of an elusive proposition, but I really hate to see her like she is, although she's quite pretty and looks healthy.
