This Drives Me Crazy...

They are wonderful! So calm, great layers.. I have a hen and a red star roo(wonderful, calm roos too)that I have my eyes set on for spring chicks; I like them so much I want more ;)

Your rooster is calm and nice? Wow! I love roosters and I'v wanted calm ones.

ANYONE CAN ANSWER THIS

What breeds of chickens is calmest for roosters? What breed has calm roosters?

Raise a few from hatch and keep the calmest one. A lot of direct human contact early will help. I've had some really nice EE roos.

Well yeah any breed can be trained somewhat... EEs are good, BRs can be pretty good, Cochins CAN be, but the bantams are jerks lol... My Red Star is by far the nicest one I've ever had, but he's been seriously babied lol.. He got picked on by my lead hen when he was a chick too, so that helped knock him down a level ;)

I have a big, sweet roo that I believe is a Production Red - not known for loving temperament. My bamtam roos are also charming little people.

All were raised from chicls with my daughter fawning over them and carrying them around, so....

Silkie Roos are nice...I've got one....Larry...he is the "King of the Dung Heap" in my flock...he's a medium sized black fuzz-ball...with big black eyes and a comb that looks just like a giant Raisin perched on his forehead...just in front of the most ridiculous tuft of Feathers that he passes off as a Crown...when he crows it sounds as if he's suffering a bit of laryngitis...he is a real Original!!!! He hasn't a clue as to how ridicules he looks....or I should say CUTE!!! He would never win a ribbon in a poultry show...no matter what color it is....but he sure has won my heart!

the poppster-

I love chickens like that! That was well written. It sounds like a cute, funny rooster!

Lol I've got one too! His name is Batman...the kids... He is awesome! Beedy black eyes and every morning he takes off running and bouncing across the run...SO cute! He's too scared to crow because of my big Red Star roo, but I catch him hiding in the spruce tree attempting to.... He's kinda sneaky like that :D
