This Duck Doesn't Lay Eggs

Two years ago I purchased two ducklings. One is a female mallard who lays regularly for about two months each year before stopping. The other is a buff who has never laid an egg yet has none of the identifying traits of a drake. So is it male or female.... Because my mallard hen is trying sit on eggs and I have no idea if they will hatch!

About the only way to tell if the eggs are fertile is to crack one open and look for the bulls eye.

Can you post some pics of your Buff I have 2 females.

Sure looks like a female Buff Maybe she is just barren like it happens in women? I have a Toulouse goose who doesn’t lay any longer and hasn’t for 2 seasons and she is only 6 yrs old so probably something wrong with laying equipment . Hard to know for sure unless you had ultra sound or X-rays done. She looks healthy
