This goat's a pain in the expletive. I need advice please.

I imagine it was. How urine cologne can attract the ladies is beyond me!

That's too funny, though. I will have to remember that for when I get goats. One of my kiddos was particularly colicy and the only thing that would settle him was his dad singing "The Battle of the Bismark".

"The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" theme song was in my playlist for when I was in labor. I got some good, some bad, but not a lick of ugly!

I'd say stop scratching her head! This is my opinion, but in rams and bucks it's pretty common to NOT touch their heads at all. A head scratch starts feeling good to them, then they get frisky and want to butt a little. Pretty soon their playing quickly turns into something more serious. I know does are different, but I'd start scratching under her chin and not on top of her head. JMO.

She is a nice looking goat. And the buckling is adorable! You know he needs to be bottle fed? Not to insult you, I'm sure you know...but just checking for the little guy's sake.

I don't like horns on goats because even the friendliest ones can turn their heads and stick you in the eye. Also, be careful not to reach between the horns to scratch the head. If the goat pulls back it hurts to have your wrist caught in there!
Good Luck! Goats are a lot of fun!

If you're worried that she's gonna impale you with a horn, you could always tip her.. To tip, meaning, to take the sharp point off the very tip of the horn. A goat like that could probably be tipped to a flat probably around the size of a dime without spilling a drop of blood.

FWIW, goats without horns still butt. Butting is just part of being a goat, regardless of the horned/dehorned/disbudded status.

Hehe do I ever know cmjust0, Cissy and Mione are both polled but man can Cissy butt. Mione isn't into butting people, but she'll butt Cissy. When I trim Mione's feet, Cissy insists on butting me in the bum the whole time until I throw her some hay to shut her up lol. Now I tie her up before I do Mione's feet.

You could put tennis balls on the horns. They look pretty funny but it seems to prevent accidents. My goats butt with their foreheads and not their horns, so horns or no horns I don't know if it would matter if they really wanted to butt me, it would still hurt.

Most goats can be tamed

I say this because I got a wild

4yr old pygmy/nigi doe last winter. The previous owners had owned her for all of those 4 years. They never trimmed her hooves in 4 years or paid any attention to her. She was crazy wild...

She's been with us a year now. I can trim her hooves with no problems, pet her...whatever I want to do she'll allow me to do it. She also had horns when I brought her home...she no longer has them now. She was very mean to the other goats, not to mention the biggest of all of them and would slam them into the side of the barn. My herd is much happier now that they don't have to fear her and she's so calm now.

I have a system when it comes to feeding the goats. #1 jumps on the stanchion first, then #2 and #3. They all know their order in which they are fed. I only give them a handful and they are happy to be locked up for it

She was tame after about 3 months of getting on the stanchion.

Definitely a pygmy! If her horns make you nervous, I highly recommend a milking stand or grooming table that can restrain the head. It's great that she lets you brush her. Rather than reach up to the udder, let her get used to you stroking her flank and legs first. Then work up to feet and udder.

Like bhelia said, all it takes is some patience.

I have no personal experience with goats but someone my mother trained some horses for had a goat that showed up on ehr property as a stray. The goat and her dog would play, so she kept it, but she called her vets to figure out how to prevent the dog from getting injured by the goat.

The vet told her she could epoxy Kongs (the dog toy) to her horns. It worked. She wore the kongs until she passed several years later.
