There is a neighbor down the street from me that has a Plexiglas fence. It is REALLY cool looking. I like the idea of that for the chicken run!
KKH- Are you going to extend the metal and Plexiglas around more?
@ WMR, Plexi would be nice, but it's expensive. I'm going to have to add clear corrugated on top of the metal. The winds are howling today and despite the metal going up 3+ft. the wind is swirling around down below. UGH!! I feel like scrapping the whole thing. It's going to cost a fortune to make this work....and for what, 4-5 bantams??!!
Also, dirt and horse manure is being blown into the coop through the vents under the roof. I'll need to figure something out there too.
My original plan was to just add some chain link that I have around the rest of it, of course, covering that with hardware cloth.
@ farmer_lew, Yes. I wonder if it'll make a difference since the wind will get up under the roof and swirl like mad. I think I'm going to have to block the wind on this wall (at least from where from the metal to where the door will be. Problem now is, that's a 8 1/2 foot span between the posts. Wonder if that'll be too much wind pushing on that....
Maybe I could put some clear up there that I can take down in the summer. I don't want to roast my poor chickens!
