This is a hen right?

I had someone tell me this chicken looks suspicious because of the green in the tail feathers. This one is a little over 4 months old, no crowing, comb and wattles turning red because I assumed she's nearing laying eggs age. Now I'm questioning everything! 😂

That's pullet. Looks like a RIR, but I could be wrong on that since there are other breeds that look similar to RIRs.

Any healthy bird with black feathering will have a 'green sheen' or 'iridescent' look to them.

That's what I always thought too! Same with shiny feathers around the neck. They're just healthy and happy girls 😊
