Hi! Thanks! I just now saw this message after all this time. I have only been on BYC for less than a year. I think there must have been another “MeeMaw” before me.

Welcome to BYC. 1/2" hardware cloth is the gold standard. If you have to ward off snakes I think the 1/4" would be warranted.

Thanks! I just now saw your message. I don’t know how I missed it before. Fortunately, we don’t have many snake issues. Our issues are foxes, raccoons and some coyotes. We have chased them away a few times. Fortunately, my husband built the coop in such a way that nothing can get in it, even if they get inside the pen. I lock up the coop doors every night at dark and unlock them in the morning.
