Pecker is still with me! She still lays an occational egg, will eat a few bugs, but doesn't go crazy over meat like the others do. She is the most affectionate chicken, and often spends time away from her sisters.

That's funny i thought she was a Americana alsoThat's great news. I have a 10 yr old hen that looks a lot like Pecker. Monkey is still laying an egg or so a week. Green eggs.

I was looking back at your first post and you said Pecker is a Cochin. Pretty sure she is a non standard Ameraucana or Easter Egger, like my Monkey. Does she lay green eggs too?
I think you're correct, with her cape. But no, she lays brown. That's great news. I have a 10 yr old hen that looks a lot like Pecker. Monkey is still laying an egg or so a week. Green eggs.

I thought she might lay green eggs with the beard, pea comb and green legs. Chromosomally speaking, in EEs the gene for blue shells is very close to the pea comb gene. Usually they are passed along together, but it's not a sure thing for EEs. Brown eggs eat as good as green! Eggs are a blessing here... little gifts every day.I think you're correct, with her cape.
