This has been a big news story around here. As you can imagine, in a small town where everyone knows pretty much every one else, we don't hear stuff like this very often. Even when the victim has moved away to go to school.
Body found and identified
Then, we find out most of what happened.
You've got to be kidding me!
Now, I did not know her very well, and did not go to the wake or the funeral. I would have been very out of place there. BUT: I did know her from subbing and she was always one of my favorite students. She would always slyly try to get out of doing homework, though not in a bad way. She was very vivacious and just very likable. To add to matters, she was my neighbor's eldest daughter's good friend.
Everyone is just shocked at how senseless this is. And how someone who stabbed a person that many times could get a second degree murder charge. I just feel like there's so many things that could have been done to keep this from happening. I'm praying for peace for her family, friends, and community. Oh, and the fact that she evidently wasn't dead when she was pushed out of the car scares me too. How long did she lay in the ditch before she died?
There is a reason I stopped getting the news, whether in some sort of print form or on the tv or radio. I just hated always seeing bad news. It seems the good stuff just isn't news anymore. I know it's out there, but it doesn't get the ratings, I guess.
