this is supposed to be an ameraucuana pullet. any guesses?

I wanted to share with you that I live in northwest Oregon as well, and we had a rooster we needed to rehome. I found this wonderful place called Out To Pasture Sanctuary. They are in Estacada, Oregon, but they also have an office right there in Portland. They are a nice couple who run a sanctuary, and they are both vegan so they won't eat your bird if it turns out to be a rooster. Not sure if they have room for more roosters, but they took mine. Their website is outtopasturesanctuary.org. Maybe you can contact them and see if they can help. If they can't take it they may know good people who can. Hope that helps.

And I hope it turns out to be a hen in disguise!

I'm sorry to say, it looks like my EE roo that I rehomed to a urban farm near my house. I visit him and bring him treats nearly every weekend. He lets me pick him up - he's a love, and turned into a gorgeous fellow. I'll post some pics of what he looked like when he was young.

Has anyone ever neutered their cockerel to skirt the rooster bans?

When Animal Control comes by, you could say, 'but he's not a Rooster, he's a Capon....' Now you just need to see if there is a vet in the area who would be interested.
