The DH is building my two 10 week BO's a outside coop today with the intent of them staying outdoors starting tonight...we shall see! I know they are more then ready but I am not!! The weather has been so nice during the day..but the night temps are going to be down to 30...They will not have heat out there..I want to wait a couple of more weeks when the night temps stay warmer...but the DH was told by his chicken raising co worker told him they should have been outside weeks ago...the DH has been so patient with me..but I think tonight may be the night!

I might be setting up camp right beside them...

At ten weeks old, if they have been off their heat lamp for awhile and the coop is draft free, they are more than ready to be outside.

Ours went out at 7 weeks with temps still dropping into the upper 20's at night and they are just fine. With a draft free coop and make sure they are put away at night and they will be fine.

x4 10 week old birds have had full feathering for a month already.

At 10 weeks our winter pullets experienced -20 with regularity and thrived with gusto in an unheated barn.
