Hello everyoneđź‘‹ this is different from what I would normally post. I was holding my hen when I felt something hard. I set her down on my table and seen what looks like two puncture wounds that had healed. The skin is ripped, but has seemed to healed pretty well. I'm trying to figure out what could have caused this.

Did a cat or other smaller mammal make a grab (fox, raccoon, skunk) for it? Canine teeth come in pairs! Watch for an abscess but it looks like it is healing.

Not that I know of. The birds stay in a 100ft Ă— 50ft pasture from sunrise to sunset. Then they go in a locked up coop at night

I'm not sure where your general location is but it could be a snake bite.

Another thought is that it's from the rooster's nails. That's about the right spot for mounting.

We live in Jackson MI, so probably not a snake. It might be from my rooster. I thought it was pretty unlikely for the skin to be flayed like that.(I'm probably wrong)
