im not quite awake yet, but i got the call at 4:30...
there here, there safe and look lovely and strong...
well see what the day brings.

im VERY impressed, healthychicksandmore sent them out yesterday, they arrived this morning, my mysetery chick is a buff bramah, not sure on sex...
and they sent an extra buff orphington too!

so i promise pictures later...
right now however im not quite awake and think im going to try and get an get another hour of sleep

Bagendhens....that is where I just got my chicks from. They were born on Sunday & I got them 7:30am on Monday. They sent me an extra BO as well & my rare breed chick was also a Buff Brahma (I named it Bob...just looks like a Bob to me, lol). Anyhow, they will be 5 days old today & are all doing well.

Congrats on your new chicks! Please post some pics.

ive got them on puppy pads for now for easy clean up and no worries about ingested pine. theyll be getting cleaned out tomorrow and put on shavings...
and please excuse the thermometer...they aparently LOVE it, or at least love to peck at it and poop on it, i had to rinse it off so the temp reading isnt acurate, they seem very comfortable ar 95 degrees right now

OH and dont panic, some of them have pink dots. that was ME, its just pink food dye, its the only color i had, makes it easier to tell them apart

and last but not least our "mystery chick" whos im currently nicknaming fuzzy feet.
i wish it was easier to sex young chicks, if this one was guarenteed a female it would absolutly be staying, dad loves it lol, but because this one was the only unguarenteed female in the box...im going to rehome it...
Compared with the others this ones got no wing feather development at all, and i know pullets typically start feathering out quicker, the others have plenty of feather tips and casings, this ones got a couple short casings...but then again its only about 2 days old lol...however im going to assume hes a little roo lol
the good news...dads given me the go-ahead if i can find someone to split an order from the same place...to order some dark and buff brhamas and some amerucana

im REALY impressed with how good these babies look for hatchery chicks there plump, VERY active, eating like pigs, clean vents, just lovely and they shipped overnight to boot!
